Volunteering opportunities at Finca la Fuente

The fast pace of life sometimes prompts us to slow down for a moment. If you feel like you want to stop and spend some productive time planting vegetables and learning the secrets of organic farming, this offer is for you. With us you will enjoy your time and rest while learning. :)

Our farm located on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria in the province of Las Palmas. We grow vegetables and fruits, free of pesticides, chemical fertilizers and transgenics.

Our values and aims are the following: to promote ecology, to create connections between living beings, to express creativity in harmony with nature, and to build a self-sustainable community that spreads our values: our ethical decision is to take responsibility for our own existence and that of our next generation.

Our farm is a quiet place where enthusiasts of living together outside the network will find themselves perfectly. In addition to typical agricultural activities related to growing vegetables and fruits, we organize events and training activities related to community building, sustainability and eco-living.

Our farm works with a company dedicated to delivery of vegan and organic meals prepared from vegetables cultivated on our farm. In addition, we actively cooperate with local eco-agriculture co-operatives and European volunteer organizations. On the other hand, we offer workshops on personal development, environmental protection, contact with nature and the promotion of agricultural activities.

We are looking for active, positive and world-curious people to work, who are not afraid of challenges and physical tasks. Working on a farm involves many demanding tasks, such as: preparing agricultural land for sowing, maintenance of the garden, harvesting crops, taking care of animals, helping with construction related tasks and house maintenance, including cleaning, as well as food preparation for the whole team and sometimes running some errands like shopping or organizing activities around the farm and events.

Please be aware that there always is a lot of work and we are only looking for people that can keep up with us and help us build an amazing space and experience for everyone ;)

Volunteering possibilities

European Solidarity Corps is the new volunteering programme funded by the EU for all the young Europeans aged 18-30.

We offer: accommodation, meals, pocket money and transport to the island from your country of origin in the European Union and partner countries.

¡ATTENTION! You need to find a sending and coordinating organization with an active project from your country before contacting with us.

After participating in a project you will be entitled to receive a certificate that documents your participation. You could use this when applying for jobs or further learning. :)

Currently we have a project for volunteers from Poland:

WWOOF is a worldwide effort to link visitors with organic farmers, promote an educational exchange, and build a global community conscious of ecological farming practices.

WWOOF organisations connect people who want to live and learn on organic farms and small-holdings with people who want to share their knowledge and way of life.

WWOOF hosts offer food, accommodation and opportunities to learn about organic and self-sufficient lifestyles. WWOOFers, volunteers, give a helping hand with the daily activities on the land and in the family home.

Workaway is a programme that connects travelers with hosts who are looking for help with various tasks in exchange for accommodation and meals. It operates on the concept of cultural exchange and provides an opportunity for travelers to immerse themselves in local cultures, learn new skills, and contribute to projects or activities in different parts of the world.

Workaway hosts offer food, accommodation and opportunities to learn about organic and self-sufficient lifestyles. Workaway volunteers, give a helping hand with the daily activities on the land and in the family home.
